Over 400 guests, 30 staff and six chefs descended on the new-look Adams Distillery in Perth on Saturday night to mark a significant milestone.
The official launch of their First Release single malt whisky was celebrated in style with tastings and initial sales – along with the launch of their new craft beer label, Grand Angus Brewery, and newly completed visitor centre.
“It’s an awful lot more than we expected,” co-founder Adam Pinkard said of the crowd in a brief moment of calm as he collected extra tasting samples to take down to “Berni’s Bar”.
“The feedback has been really great so far.”
Earlier this year, the team’s dry gin won gold at the Berlin International Spirit Competition and an Australian Gin Distillery of the Year nod.
Last year, the site was visited by international whisky blogger, Holly Seidewand, who described their unaged whiskey as “one of the best she has ever had”.
The new visitor centre includes a spacious bar with a television screen and speakers, catering kitchen, toilet facilities and 20 square metre cool room.
There is a function room and offices upstairs, and an outdoor deck that leads to the newly-laid lawn area.
The site is envisioned to become a destination stop, similar the Christmas Hills Raspberry farm, offering food seven days, with Sunday sessions and regular events.
Adams Distillery was officially opened in November 2016, with work on the new facilities beginning earlier this year.
